You'll make a trade eventually, Mr. S. Just be patient.

I guess I should elaborate, the exact picks I'm giving Daytona are:
9.5, 10.5, 11.2, 11.5, and 12.5.
If he can just reconfirm to make sure that's right, that'd be awesome.

I'm very sorry to have offended anyone with this deal. I'm not particularly happy with it either, but this is the best deal I was offered. I'm not going to franchise Shark (I already have an untradeable franchise player that I inherited) and that is the next step. I could hold him and get a comp pick which would be somewhere in the 20-35 range next season. Murphy is a solid defensive catcher. Guys like that get to be backups forever and his offense is not a killer. He immediately becomes my best catcher and fills a spot going forward. I don't have a lot of cap space opening up next season so I'm not likely to contend then either, but I'll get a bit closer.
The main point here is that I have posted my players being available since I came in to the league. I made several posts along the way highlighting Shark specifically. I didn't have my email burning up with offers. Some of you may know me from other leagues we play in. I like doing this and I know how to build a team. I like to deal and it is frustrating first that not many offers came in for very useful players and also that then there is whining from guys who never took the time to make an offer and/or who don't understand (nor should they) what I am trying to accomplish.
I made what I felt to be reasonable requests for both Shark and Quintana and got low balled on both. I had no alternatives beyond that. The Quintana deal is actually a worse deal, but I don't like Sox pitchers that much. As for Shark, he has pitched poorly of late and this has been his worst season as a major leaguer. Who knows if there is not an injury somewhere in there...
Again, I am not here to offend anyone. I'd like to get the best deal for my players. I am, however, going to do what seems best to try to contend here as soon as possible. I will make mistakes, but I will be active and keep trying from the start of the season through the end. Hopefully this does not get me off on a bad foot with any owners here.
