I know this league is always relatively sleepy thru the winter however we should probably run a check-in to see if there is going to be any open teams that need replacements before we get into FA
please post a quick here if you are still going to be active in 2012

I'm here. Sorry I haven't been more involved. Life got to be overwhelming, still is, and other things became more important. I want to get back in here and catch up.
This year, guys, I need you all to split the cost for CBS. I got $62 last year is all. The rest came out of my broke ass' pocket. That can't happen again.
Anyone that doesn't pay will not get a 1st round pick in the FYPD.

With half the teams still not checking in, free agency needing to start in a few weeks, and very few waiting in the wings to fill teams, I'm wondering what you guys see the next move as. I'm not overly confident here.

I'll play if we can get the league going, but that only gives us 11 confirmed.
Has anyone heard from Jeremy? He ran the league last year. He's a big missing piece.
I don't want to speak for Fatdrunk, but I am pretty sure he said he was only staying on through the playoffs. I think he is gone.

Yeah, I was MIA last year. Lot of changes in my life. I can't keep up running the league and that's why Jeremy took over essentially. Maybe he needs a break too.
I don't like replacing owners year to year like some of these have been. Looks like we have at least 5 openings if not more. That is pretty tough in a league this size.

Hey guys,
I'm here. I have had a busy couple weeks but love this league and want to keep it going. I am not able to dedicate myself to all the "behind the scenes" work that goes on in a league like this, but don't mind being lead dog or first mate, as long as 1-2 others can help.
Keeping up with draft boards is thankless job. Adding players to the "new" CBS site is a thankless job. If these were split, it would not be so bad. If we can get that agreed that we will have a couple moderators to help, I think we will be good.
I know the following are out for 2012:
Big Bombers (too busy)
Big Steve (got engaged)
Motown (out all last year)
I am pretty sure Blackie will play in this league as long as we have it (and we'll have him :-)).
I expect TOSuperbas to play, he is just always late to the party.
I think Jim-Vipers will play as long as we have a successful league going, but does not want to put more time into something that will not last, which I understand.
Not sure on Fat Drunks. Probably 51%+ out right now, but will try to get clarifiaction on that.
So we certainly have at least 3 openings, and maybe a couple more. If anyone has any interested parties, please let us know. If anyone would like to post an ad somewhere, feel free. But we need to find people who understand this league and understand the dedication it takes.
I think 20 teams is the magic number for a league like this. I have played in a 16, a 20, and a 24, and just think 20 is the right number. If we only had 16, it would work, but would not be ideal for me at all.
Please let me know any thoughts you have at all.

Glad you are back. I have a couple ideas. I think we need to get rid of the idea of keeping all the shadow players on CBS, it is just overwhelming. I think we need to keep a master spread sheet for every team and every player. I can do that as long as everyone can get me an updated roster of who they own currently.
I'll upload it to google docs and keep it current. I am cool with that if you guys are.
We could use this to know who would be rule 5 eligible if we implement that as well.
I love this league and want it to succeed. I just don't want to put a ton of time into it if the rest of you don't feel the same way. I can recruit a little to fill the teams as well as long as you think we only need 3. I have a couple guys who might want to join.

As much as I hate shadow/ghost players, I hate NOT having them more. It is so hard and frustrating for a new owner to come in and not who all his players are. Searching this board as well as the old board can be enough to make you want to throw in the towel when searching for guys.

As far as a Rule 5 draft, I'm against that right now. I hate to introduce something new like that when we are looking at having 3 or more new owners who will already be trying to play catch up.
Also, many teams (Drive, Vipers, Bums, Mashers, Northmen, maybe a couple others) are at or will be near the 250 roster limit, so they will have to make some players available or forfeit upcoming draft picks. I think this will make the MLFAD a little better talent wise.

Good point on having max prospect limit at 250 as we will have many teams dropping prospects in next few years and then on-going rolling basis
