Can someone explain the below contract? I understand his annual salary is $900,000, but what does the y2y3 mean? Most of my players have contracts of this nature versus the others that have a set expiration year.
Santana, Danny SS,MI,OF - Act 900,000 y2y.3

y2y stands for year-to-year
players are given these contracts when promoted from the minors and pass the rookie threshold of 130 AB or 50 IP. You have them under control for 6 yrs with the salaries escalating each year as follows: ear 1 - $300,000 Year 2 - $600,000 Year 3 - $900,000 Year 4 - $1,200,000 Year 5 - $3,600,000 Year 6 - $5,400,000
at the end of each season you have the option to keep them at the increased salary or release them without penalty if you want

Thanks, so unless I waive the player is it assumed I'm keeping them for the next year of their contract? Who makes this change in Fantrax? For example, Addison Russel is still showing y2y1, but I'm assuming he should read y2y2 for the 2017 season? I'm trying to organize my team so I can see exactly how much money I really have for FA along with identifying the players trade value. (contract status obviously plays a huge part of assigning a trade value)
