I'm starting to sound like the squeaky wheel here.
Why do we lock the roster for a full week? If you have a guy hit the DL on a Monday you're now down a guy for a full week without being able to sub someone from your bench into the lineup. Also if you want to call someone up from the minors you can't get them into the lineup until the next week rolls around.
It seems like a league that allows us to draft our entire roster, sign FA, and work trades, we would also be able to craft a lineup on daily basis if needed. It's almost like we put our team on cruise control once the season starts.
I assume the counter arguments is that's why we field 5 OF, two C, and two utility players. Personally I would prefer to field a traditional lineup, and be able to manipulate my lineup on a daily basis based need and match-ups.
Anyway, despite my questions and opinions above I do enjoy the league and don't want anyone to think I'm bashing the way things are done just to be a dick. (aka be like Ball Busters)

Its a weekly head to head league. So we kind of have to lock our rosters in for the week.
Yeah, sucks when a guy gets DL'd in the middle of the week (I'm looking at you John Axford), but I figure it all evens out over the course of the season, sometimes to your advantage, sometimes to your detriment. It just forces you to keep tabs on your guys, try to pick up on if they're nicked up, maybe you risk it and sit them for a week. There is still some strategy to setting your line-up, based on what teams have off days, who has bad match-ups for the week, which Ps will get 2 starts etc...
You can always post any proposed rule changes on the board and open them for debate.
