So I drafted this guy here;
26.17 Ball Busters via Drive--Jacob Faria, RHP, TB
It was 2011 when I think I started in this league. I got the pick as a throw in from Greenville (thanks!) via trade.
He might not do great, he might flame out, but here is how he is doing this year and is on my starting roster;
Faria, Jake
P(R)- TB
300,000 y2y.1 8 8 11 49.1 36 14 30 0 1.82 1.014
Right now he is pitching a shutout, winning into the 5th.
I dont post this because I am tooting my own horn....how the F could I know a 26 rounder in our draft would work? I post to show others it is worth being active throughout the entire draft
Okay, some may hate me for this but here are some sites to help you draft;
- Use this as your basis for drafting, especially later rounds where you want to quit doing it; www.baseballamerica.com/draft/2017-top-200-mlb-draft-prospects/#yUzibb8jiqWQdC5W.97
- Print up all 200, cross off as they get drafted here, throw away sheets that have everyone drafted off it, take home and to work to draft as needed. Works really well.....follow this and you do well if nothing else
- See who signed so you know if they are actually in the majors; m.mlb.com/news/article/237042574/2017-draft-signing-and-bonus-tracker/
- Do some Googlin and find sites like this, I probably find 3-4 of these a year I compare to from BA list of Top 200; bleacherreport.com/articles/2715096-2017-mlb-draft-picks-live-team-by-team-day-1-grades-and-analysis
- Sickels is fun and good, if you want Prospect info, read this site daily. Also has lots of draft coverage and analysis; www.minorleagueball.com/
- Best raw stats site...lots of info, not bad to navigate but need to learn how to some. When you search and guys dont come up, 50/50 you need to search differently or they arent really signed/baseball players/under 18; www.baseball-reference.com/
Thats it for now, I have more sites I use but keeping those under wraps for now
Let me know if you guys want more info like this...or not and I am an egotistical bastard that dominates. Your call
Peace out
