TOP 10 Predictions

In the spirit of friendly shit talking.  Thought I'd post a thread for 2019 Top 10 predictions. This is IMO based off transactions made in the offseason and how they did last season. If you didn't make the top ten you have some work to do , but its possible. 


Season Standings 

1) Greenville Drive   =  (Team is stack, Deep hitters but his pitching takes him over the edge watch out for those young arms)
2) Cothran Dynasty  =  (Best hitting team in the league, Scherzer and Verlander lead a pitching group that is a starter and a closer away from a REPEAT)
3) Trojanman          =  (Riddled by Injury last year Judge and Donaldson are healthy, Bumgarner and Syndergaard are health add deGrom and we are ready)
4) DC Vipers           =   (Solid Team coming out of a rebuild, Still a closer and some hitting depth away. Can Clevinger repeat and Strasburg stay healthy?)
5) Atlanta Speed UPs = (Makes the biggest jump in the standings, Pitching is a concern will need Freeland and Osuna to repeat last yr,2nd catcher is needed)

6) Boulder Buster    =   (Great farm system,lots of great young players, but pitching will keep him from a ship, could use a catcher as well)
7) Toronto Northman  = (Focused on hitting in FA, but has No true ACE, lost a chance to make a jump by not getting pitching in FA) 
8) Motor City Kittles  =  (Had a good FA period and this team has depth, but No Ace and one closer it will be hard to win Pitching categories)
9) Herman's Hermits  = ( Inherited a great team, but was not active in FA and really lost a chance to move up)
10) Monterey Park     = (Base of this team is great, and had 32 mil to spend to make it better but did nothing , disappointed) 

Greenville = Wins the ship, stops CD from a repeat and stops Trojanman from 3 of 4.

I thought it was thoroughly researched and pretty spot on. Come playoffs though, it's a crapshoot.

I think the analysis of me was pretty spot on....of course this all assumes no trades which I will be doing throughout the year

I agree with your assessment overall. I think the top 8 all have a great opportunity to make the playoffs. I think you hit on the main reason why teams don't make the playoffs in your commentary for spots 9 and 10. If you show up, participate in FA and the drafts you are a good bet to have a good team. If you blow off league activities it will be difficult.

I think Daytona has a good shot at a playoff spot this year. He has been consistently building his team and I could easily see him as a playoff team this year, if not next year.

[Motor City Kitties]

MLB equivalents:
All Rise - Rockies. Gonna have to hit, because they can't pitch.
Speed-Ups - Brewers. You don't realize how good they are until you're looking up at them in the standings.
Boulder - Padres. Landed the big fish in the offseason, can the supporting cast come through ?
Carolina Giants - Tigers. Gonna get worse before getting better I'm afraid.
Cothran - Red Sox. Defending champs.
Daytona - Indians. All about the pitching.
Vipers - Braves. Good and young. Ready to be elite ??
Glenside - Blue Jays. Once they grow up, this team will be fun.
Drive - Astros. The team to beat year in and year out.
Hermits - Marlins. New ownership. Gonna have to see how this plays out.
Jeters - Angels. One superstar doesn't make a team.
JABO - Pirates. Some solid pitching, but thats about it.
Maulers - Rangers. This team is built to dominate in 2011.
Monterey Park - Dodgers. The pieces are there. Gonna have to stay healthy.
Kitties - Phillies. A few splashy moves, but pitching is a concern.
Spiders - Mets. Have names you know, but names aren't enough.
Bums - Reds. Made some interesting moves hoping to compete.
Northmen - Cubs. Want to win. Great fans (??). Haven't yet made the key moves.
Trojaln Man - Cardinals. Always in the title race.
Utah Giantzzz - Diamondbacks. Got rid of a superstar, now looking towards the future.

This was meant to be all in good fun. If you feel I slighted your team, make some moves and prove me wrong. Good luck to everyone this season !!

Well started off very poorly but now my pitching is ranked #1 out of 20 teams in Season Stats......I never would have thought that
