I appreciate the opportunity but there are serious issues in this league.... Thanks Earl for the invite I'm staying in the other League but needs better organization and the things I've seen can't be blamed on a weird season!!

im sorry I missed my picks but i asked when the draft was going to be a week before i went on vacation and it took a week to get a response by then i was on a plane I missed 3 1st rounders Im not leaving but things need to change there should have been a check-in.

im sorry I missed my picks but i asked when the draft was going to be a week before i went on vacation and it took a week to get a response by then i was on a plane I missed 3 1st rounders I sent an email and a PM to all owners on Sept 28th. The draft started a week later because I heard no objections from anyone. I'm sorry the timing was not good for you but I had no idea you were out of town/country/contact. |

Point is, this is one of the few leagues in which I play where there is not a check-in thread before a major event like a draft. While sending a mass email is one thing, it would have been easy to check the activity log on the board to see that there have been several owners who had not checked in in some time and that should have been a clue to do more than just send a message and push forward.
Further, once there were so many missed picks in the first round or two, it might have been another opportunity to step back and see where everyone stood. Just because there is *some* communication and organization in the league doesn't mean that there is anywhere near enough of either one.
The way the league has, and continues to be, run is a large part of its unhealthiness and also why it is hard to retain owners. I'm not trying to offend the admins here, but that seems to be a fairly accurate statement. There is a huge gap between the better teams and the dregs of the league. Stuff like this is why that exists and why it will only continue to get worse. We're getting to a point where no one wants to invest the time into some of these teams that it would take to get the healthy. I've been here since 2015 and I'm as active as anyone, but the best I've able to do is get my team into mediocre territory. Some of you play with me in PTB or Saber Dynasty and I took over abandoned teams in both those leagues and got to the playoffs pretty quickly both times.
We've had open teams for a long time now. We've had other teams that have had indifferent ownership. We have very little activity as far as trades and free agent acquisitions compared to other similar leagues. We need a reset where we fill every team with owners who are committed to running and building their teams. We also need those teams who have benefitted all this time to step back and lend a hand. Lose a trade or two with one of the rebuilders so we can get at least a bit of parity. It's the least we (yes, I've been able to take advantage at times and I've lost a couple of trades in the last season) can do if we want this league to be as much fun and as competitive as we want it to be. If that's not our goal, then maybe it's time to just let the thing die a dignified death.

It's a fun, active league with a number of interesting twists in the rules which make it a different experience. Greg, it might also be nice if we could get some of those smart, active owners from SD over here... |
