Pausing the MLFAD

Due to inactivity, open teams and general concern for the league, we will be pausing the MLFAD at round 5. Anyone who has a pick in the 1st-5th rounds can continue those picks but no picks from rounds #6 on can be made.

The MLFAD was paused over a month ago. We have heard next to nothing about where we are headed or how we are going to try to get there. The commish hasn't been on the board in over two weeks. I hope he is ok.

Are there enough concerned owners here to try to put this league back together? Where do we go from here? If we are going to try to make this work, we should think about making the effort quite soon.

We have 15 owners who have been on the board since the beginning of October. That counts Jeremy and would leave us five short.

Is there anyone who has email for either Jeremy or Motor City, who was part of the administrative team? I don't want to step on any toes if we try to get things rolling, but we should try to put things in place soon as we seem to have a lot to do in order to make it work well.

We do seem to have a strong core of 5-10 owners who are very active, very engaged and likely willing to help build this back.

Maybe a first step, in addition to trying to contact Greenville and Motor City, might be for those of us who have been regular here to feel out among our fantasy acquaintances to see if anyone might be interested in joining this league. We know we need at least a few new guys.

First, it seems we should make sure that we are really only three teams short. We have not had a lot of participation on the board of late. Then, if we can't fill the open teams, we might just think about contracting. Fifteen to seventeen teams that are active and willing to commit to the league are better than having owners trying to run multiple teams. That does not seem to have worked as well as we might have hoped. There are certainly options for expansion down the road if everything works out.

Hopefully, there are plenty of new owners already in the pipeline, but it seems time to get things in order to ramp up for 2021 and end the uncertainty.

Either way, I suggest that we involve all owners in discussions going forward to alleviate the pressure on the current admin team and to possibly get some fresh ideas as to what might work to turn the league in a better direction. Running this type of league is not easy and if we are all in it together, it might make things less of a chore for any one or two owners.

I think we are over thinking the process.. we do need new owners.. This is the off-season and where there are a few leagues that keep moving during the off-season this league hasn't traditionally...that is ok if we have a plan.
I can get St Louis back if we get a better line of communication. We need to have a plan....if i got St louis back we have 18 contracting 2 teams i think would be ok if needs be ...we should have a plan A and Plan B ready to execute on a set date!
