This league is a perpetual keeper league. It is for knowledgeable and serious owners run through Fantrax commissioner. It is a head to head rotisserie style league altered to mirror real Basketball as much as possible. The league also has a message board site for all drafts, transactions, roster, salaries and other general chatting and information.
ROSTER:
League consists of 16 teams that will have 15-man rosters, d-league, with a 10-man active roster that consists of the following:
2 PG's 2 SG's 2 SF's 2 PF's 2 C's 5 Reserves/ Benchplayers
Players will be eligible at positions assigned by Fantrax.
Each week you can choose your 10-man active roster from your 15-man roster. If you wish to promote a d-league player to your active 10-man roster, you must make room for him on your 15-man roster and have the salary cap space to do this. Your total roster limit will be 30 players. (More slots can can be added if league deems appropriate)
SALARIES:
In the Inagural season your 15 man roster will be filled through the freeAgency process..this process will take three weeks..their will be 3 tiers of players 1 tier per week players available will be listed with applicable rules for that week.
Maximum player salary amount is based on tier (tiers will be determined by fantrax player rater) regardless the minimum player salary is $500,000. Any player on the 15-man roster will be given a salary of $500,000 or greater. Each team will given, two 4-year contracts, three 3-year contracts, five 2-year contracts and five 1-year contracts. Contract lengths will be decided by each owner by 2pm est Dec 20th 2020.
Each team is allowed up to 3 option contracts each off-season. Option contracts are option years that the team has on a player and can be broken down into any combination of 4 years or less at your discretion, meaning 1yr + 1yr, 1yr + 2yrs, 1yr + 3yrs, 2yrs + 1yr, 2yrs + 2yrs, 3yrs + 1yr. There is a maximum of 3 option contracts at one time per team.
D-league and y2y CONTRACTS:
Any player who was drafted in our FYPD is a d-league player (Minors).
Once a player is promoted to the 15-man roster by an owner, he is given a salary of $500,000 based on our y2y (year to year) contract structure. This will be his y2y.1 contract year. A player must be promoted at seasons end if he eclipses 820 lifetime minutes.
D-League call up contract: Year 1 - $500,000 Year 2 - $1,000,000 Year 3 - $2,500,000 Year 4 - $5,000,000
Player can be cut before any new season under this contract, but not during the season.
FREE AGENCY: (to be written) There are two periods of free agency each year: in-season and off-season. To be eligible to be bid on in free agency, a player must have had 1 year in NBA
In-Season free agency consists of all players who are not on any Shaqtin a Fool roster but are on an NBA's team’s active 15- man roster. Players must be introduced in the Free Agency forum on the message board site and a league minimum bid which will be stated in tier rules must be given to the player. Everyone in the league is then free to bid on this player, assuming they have the cap space. Once bidding has ceased for a 24-hour period, the player is awarded to that team with the highest bid. The winning team then has 24 hours to determine contract length between 1 and 4 years. If no contract length is stated, player will be given a default 1-year contract.
Off-Season free agency follows the same bidding process, but bidding will take place over weeks with players divided into tiers. Each team owner can make bids on no more than 5 players at any one time. If they are caught to have more than 5 existing bids they will lose all active bids and must wait 24 hrs before rebidding on those players.
When entering off-season free agency, each team can protect 3 players from being lost to free agency, one from each tier. The players can be bid on by the other owners, when the bid has been declared the winner, the previous owner can choose to match the highest bid. owner has 24 hrs to decide. if he/she declines to match winning owner then has 24 hrs to assign contract. please be aware when you are bidding if that player can be matched..matching players will be listed is the eligible players list for that tier.
Franchising a player can also be done when a players contract is up. this player can be from any tier. His salary will be either his previous salary or the lowest dollar amount in his tier whichever is greater.
.
TRANSACTIONS:
Trade Deadline Trade deadline will match the true NBA trade deadline. If trading draft picks you can trade current year plus the following year picks. All players (besides franchise players) can be traded. Players signd in offseason cannot be traded until after completion of week 4 games.
Trade Approval All trades must be approved by one of the two league commissioners. Only trades that affect the competitive balance of the league or are suspect of collusion shall be denied or asked to be reworked. if a trade has been made for cap purposes tht must be stated in trade agreement from the 2 owners.
IR Only players placed on NBA IR can be placed on IR.
Waivers: You may place a player on waivers for 24 hours and if unclaimed he remains on your roster. You may place a player on waivers 3 different times in the same season. If a player is claimed off waivers you take on players entire contract amount and length. ifunclaimed he can be put in the d-league but salary still counts against the cap.
SCORING:
The scoring period for each day runs Monday through Sunday. Because Opening Day may be on a Sunday, the scoring period for the first week will be Sunday through Sunday. All games will be contested in head-to-head match-ups based on the following categories and winner-take-all values:
FG% 3PTM FT% REB AST ST BLK TO (Fewest Turnovers) PTS 2D(Double Doubles)
Each match-up has a possible 10.0 Wins at stake. The point values were chosen in order to make the results as realistically representative of actual player values as is possible without developing a significantly more complicated point system grid. .
PLAYOFFS:
The regular season will be 14 weeks long. The top 8 overall seeds make the playoffs. Round one will be week 15 and will match #1 vs #8, #2 vs #7, #3 vs #6, #4 vs #5. week 16 will be the four winners best seed vs worst remaining seed and two middle seeds remaining.
DRAFT RULES: The FYPD will occur the the 1st Monday after the NBA draft. The Draft will consist of 3 rounds over 3 days.
Only players selected in the current season’s NBA's draft are eligible. Since we will only draft 48 of the 60 players the remaing players will go to free Agency
This draft will take place on the Proboards Website by time slot order determined by reverse finish of prior season.
.MISC:
All teams will be responsible for keeping an electronic file of all players under their control and how they were acquired. This must be available within one week when asked for by the commissioner. If unable to do this, all players not accounted for by the owner will become free agents.
