As I see it the rich are just getting richer and the poor are going to stay poor!
It's an complete waist of time, I just watched a 300k player sit for 23 hrs and 50 min then get bid on.
I have 72 million and can't get anyone because we have 2 guys that are just pulling from the bottom and 1 of them has a full roster so he/she is literally just on the board to drive up prices.
The integrity of the league is shot!!!

I don't understand your complaint. We should let you get players cheap because you can't spend your $72 million?? The 5 bid rule is in place to level the playing field regardless of cap situation. As far as pulling from the bottom, if I see value I will bump that person. If you don't like my bid, you are free to keep you abundant cap space. And you do know there is gamesmanship in auction leagues right?

And you do know there is gamesmanship in auction leagues right? both of you need to stop... Jeremy his complaint is valid: 1) because he's aloud to feel how he feels and 2)if someone is just pulling from the bottom that has nothing to do with value that being said the owner has the right to do whatever they want they're the owner but don't say it's about value because its not. We've all pulled from the bottom before, i'm comfortable in saying its keeping players available in many cases because we do have a 5 bid limit. Marcus this is matching free agency all the players are going to go high, these theoretically should be the best players in Free Agency that's why owners want to match.. but yes i can see why your frustrated.. taking over a team is hard and you'll need to have more patience. In theory everybody walks away with just 3 players 2 that you matched and 1 other. As far as 5 bid rule it doesn't level the paying field, it just means we are all playing by the same rule. When the rule is a 24 hr bid clock and a 48 hr match clock that's not level that's giving even more than just matching rights to previous owner that also giving them control of the free agent board for an extended period of time. An example Kitties was nice to me by deciding on Darvish fast but in reality kitties could have held me hostage. He could have held Darvish for 48 hrs and shopped for a better deal while my money is tied up for the extended period of time it only takes 24 hrs for him to win perhaps a better deal.. the rule basically is saying bidder has to commit but matcher doesn't. In the real world teams can take an offer off the table we can't!! should be 24 hrs for both or 48 for both.. I personally forgot about this difference and never brought it up but thats something that does need to be addressed. Fantasy is supposed to be fun so enojoy it!!

I'm sorry, I've been here less than a week and I'm already guilty of scouring free agents sitting in that 18+ hour window. As a newcomer, one of my first observations about this league is you all have done a really good job of managing the problem of contract inflation. I'm not seeing any $30m plus per year contracts here. I think the escalating costs for young players is brilliant. I love the deep roster of minor leaguers. There's a lot to like about this league, I certainly do not want to damage its integrity or diminish anyone's enjoyment.
I hope you'll trust me when I say I have an estimated value for each player. Like Jeremy, if I see a good value close to the 24-hour deadline, I'll place a bid. My thought is, if that player has made it this far at a bargain price, maybe I can win at a bargain 24 hours later.
Once again, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone.

Free agency is a tough time to navigate through. I'm a firm believer in owners being able to run their team anyway they want within the rules. That said, I play in one league where free agency is referred to as 'enemy month' Aside from that, I am excited to see interaction on this board. Guys posting stuff. Other guys reading and responding to it. Listening to each others' ideas and working to make this a better league (hopefully, we will do a good job of that). It's important to have these discussions and it's important to not take any of it personally. We are varied people from varied backgrounds who see things from our own unique perspective. As someone who has only hoped for this type pf interaction, Thanks to all of you, both the new guys who have come in firing on all cylinders and our legacy owners who will hopefully adapt to a more active and vocal league. I look forward to the rest of our free agency and to the season as we all work together.

Reading this - I'll tell you all right now I grab from the bottom of the list every time I bid.
1) I am very busy and don't have a-lot of time to follow every thread. So I wait for the (Hot) period to be over to see if I can afford a player. 2) I am super cap restrained because I MISSED the off season and the ability to drop players and adjust my roster. So I have dead money to account for. (This is my fault I could not dedicate the time when rosters were adjusted) 3) If you are new here and you believe you are coming in here and winning it all in one season, you are WRONG. This is a keeper league and it has taken guys YEARS to build a complete team that contends. So start building for your future chances are this year wasn't your year anyway! 4) Ive seen teams use a rebuild year and come back crazy strong that what makes it so fun !!
I thank all the admins here as they are amazing and have kept this thing going for years !! hats off !!

I'm not sure why we take such pleasure in being dismissive of our new owners when they ask a question or express a frustration. Sometimes we would do well to maybe think about how we can make some of these things better. I don't know of any other leagues where all of the non-matching free agents are available all at once. Couple that with the max 5 bid rule and you are going to have these kinds of problems. If we split up free agency a bit, even as little a change as a pitcher week and then a hitter week, we could make things at least a little bit better with fewer available players and guys having to hold on to some of their money for the next wave. Sometimes change is good. Even if it is someone else's idea
