It is more than a little frustrating to see guys available on Fantrax only to find they have been taken in previous drafts. I have found several players that have not been added to rosters from the 2021 FYPD. I should have Cade Povich. Jeters should have Drew Gray. I'm guessing there are more. 

We need to do a better job of getting guys on rosters where they belong. These are not the first guys in this draft where this has been a problem. I am fairly certain there are also a number of players from previous drafts who were/are not in the Fantrax database who either have not been added or that would take a ton of work to find and add because accurate records were not kept. With the amount of turnover we have had in this league, the need for accurate and up to date rosters is even more important as new owners can't know who they have if admins have not done their jobs to get the rosters right. 

Everyone knows that a league like this takes a lot of work to keep up with. No one is saying it is easy. The way to deal with a big workload is not to ignore it. We had essentially a three month dark period here after the 2021 season. That was time where admin work should have been caught up on. If that dark period is necessary, then it is important for the admins to get the league caught up immediately upon trying to initiate a new season. The whole advantage of using Fantrax as our stat provider is their superior player pool. When the admins are not doing their jobs, that advantage disappears. 

If there is more work that the admins are able or willing to do, we need to talk about this as a league so that we can get things where they should be.

I also have Jose Torres, ss, cin from the 2021 FYPD. Has anyone gone through at least that draft to make sure all players are properly assigned?

Motor City took Mason Albright in that draft, who I just took yesterday.

Anytime you see a guy who should be on your team just message an Admin. We will verify that the player gets on the correct roster. There are certainly roster mistakes, that’s why everyone should use the search function on the draft board to ensure that they are making valid picks. Also if you need to amend something don’t use the edit function. For some reason that screws up the search. Just quote yourself and make a new post.

To the bigger topic of “roster integrity”. I personally am not going to verify everyone’s roster is 100% accurate. But I am willing to correct problems as they are pointed out. There are a ton of reasons why guys aren’t added including - we just missed it, roster was full and player couldn’t be added, confusion over who really owned a guy, player wasn’t in fantrax at draft time, etc…. Should we be better ? Probably. Realistically will we be ? I’m doubtful but hopeful.

Short term I’d encourage everyone to take a look at their rosters and shoot me a message or make a post for all your missing players and it will get addressed.

Last year, my wife decided my garage needed cleaning. She picked a weekend when I planned a golfing trip. She said, "you can go golfing or help me clean the garage." I chose golf. A couple weeks ago, I was getting drunk with a few friends and wanted to show off my old Whitesnake T-shirt. Unable to find it, I asked my wife if she'd seen it. "Oh, that thing, it was lying on the garage floor last summer, I threw it in the garbage," was her response. "What?! that thing is worth something today," I said incredulously. I don't know why I let you bother me with this same old shit. Every other post of yours is an attack on the admins. Nothing about this post is about integrity. Integrity has been my highest priority in this league which I was I am so protective when others have offered to help.

This post should have been called "Roster Accuracy" and I would have no problem. That is actually the problem right? So each year an admin sends you a PM and says your rostered has been updated for the new year, please take a look and let us know of any mistakes. That means ANY mistakes. So it is as much or more your responsibility to make sure your roster is accurate. Reply to that PM, make a post of any missing players, your team or others. We are not perfect, don't pretend to be, but we do the best we can, certainly when we are aware of an error.

These things are not just oversights. There are chunks of guys not added in some drafts. It's a lack of respect for the owners here who spend time trying to do their best. We don't have access to add players to our rosters. We have already notified you that we took players. It's called a draft. Those players should have been added and the ones not in Fantrax should be noted somewhere on the board in their own thread.

'Do a search'. Try doing searches for all of these players. Many times, you get a list of all picks in a specific draft. We should not have to sort through all of that when the admins are not taking the time to get it right.

We screwed up, you fix it...that's not an appropriate response and it's especially challenging for new owners whose teams have gone through multiple ownerships in the last several seasons.

I'm not sure why we can't just decide that there are some legitimate concerns about some things here and work together to try to fix them. Maybe something like,

'Hey, we know we dropped the ball a time or two, but we want to try to make it right. Here are the drafts where we know we let things get away from us, can you all go back and check to see that you have all of the players you should from those drafts? If a guy is not in Fantrax, let's create a list in a thread on the board for them. And here is a history of ownership for you new guys so you can follow along and get the guys you should have. We will do better going forward or we will ask for help as soon as we see we need it (rather than 'will we be better? doubtful but hopeful').

'And while we're at it, we are going to update the rules on the board so they reflect the way we actually run the league right now. Anybody have any suggestions?'

The dismissiveness and defensiveness is not a good look and it does nothing to make things better. I think most everyone here would be happy to work with you to fix things, but a generic, 'go back through every draft and see who we missed' isn't very helpful to anyone.

That might not be the best of responses, with all due respect. Daytona tries to point things out that can be improved. He has suggestions that are pretty good ones and maybe we can work on them. The turnover of owners in this league has been quite high so maybe he isn’t that far off.

Sorry, this was not intended just for you. Neuse was the only guy from the 2021 FYPD that was missing from the database. He has been added since then and is on your roster now.
