League Timeline
Jan15th:
All roster declarations completed (options/matching/franchise/y2y)
All teams at or below 250 roster max.
Abandoned rosters set by admin committee/new owner recruitment
1st Monday in February
Free agency begins
- Week One-Matching players
-Week Two- OF/C/U
-Week Three- INF
-Week Four- Pitchers (the last three weeks will rotate each season)
2nd Monday in March
MLFAD begins- 20 rounds
MLB Opening Day
PG 40-man rosters set
In season free agency begins
June 1st
Players acquired in this season’s off-season free agency can now be traded
1st Monday after Signing Deadline
FYPD- Currently 20 rounds
2nd Sunday in August
Trade deadline
August 15th
End of in-season free agency
End of Scoring Period 21
End of PG regular season
End of Scoring Period 24
End of PG/MLB season
Transaction Blackout begins- no trading or releasing of players
2nd Monday in October (Changed to Oct 15th for 2022)
Confirm intent to return for next season
Nov 15th
Transaction blackout ends
League discussions begin (rules, etc)
Dec. 15th
Finalize changes for upcoming season
Pay Fantrax fee- Everyone must be paid by Jan. 1
There is a method to the madness here. For those who need a dead period in league business, the transaction blackout lasts for 6-7 weeks, though more active owners can continue to introduce topics on the board. Once the blackout is lifted, all I’m asking is that folks check in a couple of times a week to see if any claimable players have been dropped and possibly participate in trade/rules discussions where you feel inclined. The biggest need is owners not being able to slip useful guys past needy teams through waivers during the off-season.
