There is some concern that we now have too many comp picks. Agree or not? If we look to change the process do we go through a certain number of rounds or do we just comp the top X players in free agency?

I personally feel 10 mil is way too easy for a 1st round comp pick. I feel that 3 rounds are also sufficient.
1st Round 15 mil 2nd round 10 mil 3rd round 6 mil
I just feel like comp picks should be for certain players. To me Comp picks should be more like a qualifying offer in baseball. It should go to high end players or players that receive a certain total of money for the life of a contract. Me getting a comp pick because Daytona signs Duvall for 1-year 5 mil contract away from my team doesn't deserve compensation. it dissuades me from trying to resign my own player.
Basically, it means I get a 5th rounder (just an example) for Duvall, and I can go sign Rosario for 5 mil and it's a win/win for me!

At the end of last season there were only 30 players with a contract of 10 mil or more. When you think about the fact that there has been more than 30 1st round picks most years including comp picks and those players never get to 10 mil salaries, they go y2y6 for 5.4 mil then the best ones are franchised at 8mil there is just no incentive to bid in FA on high priced players. Then we get compensated for losing mid-tier and crappy players.

I would say four rounds (something like this)
1st Round 15 mil 2nd round 10 mil 3rd round 6 mil 6th round 3 million

A lot of owners want some change to the system of comp picks. There were several suggestions, but everyone agreed we have too many. There were more than 70 comp picks last FYPD!
For 2023, we are going to go with 5 comp picks in each of the first five rounds for a total of 25. The picks will be awarded based on the 25 highest free agent salaries, provided the player changes teams.
Again, we can continue to discuss this for the future if we wish.

The comp pick system needs to be changed and I don't think anything below $5m should get one.
