Do we want to allow for IL players to be designated as opposed to our current system? Fantrax allows us designate spots if we choose. One person has noted it might be easier to make sure that only players on the 60 day IL are so designated as it is possible to move a guy to minors when he is hurt and have him lost there even after he is activated.

not sure why this league never had designated IL spots. There should be spots on Fantrax for the 60 day IL guys

I agree that we should have 60 Day IL slots

I think we should definately have some IL slots not sure they have to be 60 day versus the shorter time periods but something would be really helpful as I had a number of guys on the IL last year and they had to eat roster space even though I had players I could have called up to make my team more competitive.

Everyone agrees!! We already had the ability to put 60 day IL guys in the minors without exposing them to waivers, but Fantrax gives us the ability to make those designated spots so they are easier to track. Those spots will be unlimited but they will count against your overall player limit, though not against your 40 man.
Remember that all transactions must be posted to the board before they can be official.

I did not know Fantrax had IL spots or I would have added them previously.

I’m for 60 day IL just like the MLB. We have 40 roster spots so if a guy goes down short term you pull from your 40 man. If he’s out on the 60 day dl then he won’t count against your 40 man.

My only concern stems from what happened to me last season. I had a full 40 man and was stashing a guy on the 60 day DL in my minors. He was activated in real life during our fantasy playoffs. In order to keep my team legal - in my mind - I had to put him on my active roster and make an additional move to clear space.
My question is - if I put a guy on the IL and he gets activated - how long do I have to get him back on my active roster ?

There will be a difference between the regular season and the playoffs. In the regular season, owners will have until the end of the next full scoring period after a player comes off the 60 day IL to return him to your 40 man.
Once the playoffs begin, 40 man rosters will lock. Owners with guys on the 60 day IL who they think might come off during the playoffs would have to add them to the 40 man at the start of the playoffs or they will be ineligible for the duration of the playoffs.
