Hello owners,
I will be taking over running this league. I want to thank Jeremy for all his hard work and dedication to this league.
I don't want to come in change all the rules. This is a good league set up. What needs changing is activity level. That activity level starts with me.
I will have a co-help which I will work on as soon as I'm done posting this. Each post season I will post a schedule of league deadlines for the upcoming season. They will be dated and firm.
My expectation is activity. What that means is owners that login at least weekly, respond to PM's and keep updated to the best of the team's ability active rosters. I expect
60-day IL players to go on IL. I expect, when possible, to use the Free Agent pool to fill holes in your roster. You do not have to trade to be an active owner.
I expect full participation in both drafts. Maybe that involves trading your picks or drafting them yourselves, but I expect all picks to be used.
In respect to the draft here's how it's going to play out. As usual time will be awarded to each slot in all rounds. In rounds 1-3 if you fail to make your pick, 1 hour before the start of the next round the commissioner or other staff member will make that pick with the highest undrafted player. A formal list of eligible players to be drafted will be kept on this site as some may not have time to keep up on all the picks. The remainder of the draft will be 2 days following. For example, if you don't pick in round 4 the pick will be made before round 6 etc. The reason for this as part of the commissioner's responsibility is to keep the league healthy and sustainable. Owners not drafting weakens the sustainability of that franchise.
The draft is scheduled for 20 rounds: 25 picks in the 1st 5 rounds with 20 picks the remaining 15. That's 425 picks. With 1 week remaining in the MLB signing period for draftees they are somewhere in the Neiborhood of 300 If they do not sign 425 players, we will shorten the draft accordingly.
Finally, activity in these leagues is important. I realize your whole life is not about fantasy baseball, with that being said for those of us who want to play and who seek competitiveness activity is vital. IF YOU ARE NOT ACTIVE YOU WILL BE REMOVED. How this is determined 1) before the season and before the draft's roll call will be taken. You will have 2 weeks to respond if you don't, it will be assumed you no longer are interested in your ownership. 2) if you do not actively set your lineups I will reach out, and course of action TBD 3) check the board minimum 1x weekly. If you can't do these things this league may not be right for you.
IF you don't feel like you can fulfill these 3 rules just let me know and I will search for a replacement.
There are several owners in here that participate in larger leagues than this that are more active. I do know it can be done.
League roll call will take place starting now Draft will begin July 31st. I will be working on the draft board over the next few days.
