Can someone explain to me how these work? I see some players were waived yesterday. But no one did anything on them. Am I supposed to check that page everyday or can an anouncement go out when a player is waived so everyone has a chance to pick them up? Do I get them cheaper than they are? Can I cut a player and just outright him to Free agency to open a roster space if he gets cut or sold or hurt or whatever?

When a player is waived. You just reply to the thread, simply saying claimed. There is a waiver priority based on standings. Lowest winning % gets him. Waiving a player is just as easy. Create thread thread and if the player is not claimed he going into you minors roste w/ his full salary.
Note: if you claim a player , you take on his contract in full.

That si part of my point is that I cannot find his full contract and salary anywhere. Which is why I was saying we need to set this up a little different so that it says who, how much they are paid, how long they are under contract and an email telling all they are available. I was really more interested in quentin but I still do not know how much or how long he will cost.

CBS has all of the salary information for each player. Some peoples roster here on the message board may have the info as well. While it would be nice to have this posted with the player, it is not a requirement.
Also, we will not be sending out an e-mail to let people know that someone is on waivers. Sometimes there is some strategy to putting a guy on waivers that you want to clear and keep as a paid minor. This promotes people visiting the board once a day to make sure they don't miss out on anything.

I tried looking at rosters on the CBS site and I cannot even figure out how to see everyones roster. Blackie put up a waiver guy, but what is his team name so I can go look at it myself. It should be easy for people to claim players thru waivers as that is fair. It should not be startegic to minor a player over a holiday weekend and hope no one looks at the board.

Blackie's team name is Blackie's Reds.

One thing that could fix it if when waiving a guy you put his salary and contract year in the posting.

Here are the salary years of the waived individuals:
Carlos Quentin $12.9 mil (2013) Lance Berkman $11.8 mil (2011) Manny Ramirez $9.3 mil (2011)
